Atlas of the Prague’s Environment

Please click on " always" button in the authentification dialog We are sorry for this temporary inconvenience and we do hope that it will not discourage you to use our application. - The Atlas was developed by the Department of Informatics of the Prague City Hall as an outcome of the Prague Environmental information System (IOŽIP), which also contains the set of environmental thematic maps collected in a geographic information system (GIS - ŽIP).
- The shown Atlas has been developed by means of WebMap® software, which enables dynamic viewing of map layers in GIS and especially it´s Internet version offers a wide range of other functions. WebMap® is the product of the company of Hydrosoft Veleslavín, which has been collaborating at the Atlas for a long time.
- The Atlas content was prepared as following the previous outcomes of the IOŽIP system, i.e. two volumes of the Atlas of the Prague’s Environment in printed form (IMIP 1997, 1998), in electronic version on the CD-ROM/DVD Prague- Environment Nos. 1 - 7 (IMIP 1997, 1998, 2000 and Prague City Hall 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2008). The set of maps on the Internet has been continuously updated and also WebMap® software has been undergoing its development. Atlas is an graphic supplement of Yearbooks called Prague - Environment regularly published since 1990.
- Numerous organisations, namely Aquatest, ATEM, Czech Hydrometeorological
Institute, Czech Statistical Office, DHI Hydroinform, Public Health Authority
of the City of Prague, Institute of Municipal Informatics of the City of
Prague, Prague City Hall, Prague Services Company, Prague Water Supply and
Sewerage Company, Design Institute of Transport and Engineering Constructions
(PUDIS), National Institute of Public Health, Institute of Transport Engineering
of the City of Prague, City Development Authority of the City of Prague,
and others provided data incorporated into the file GIS-ŽIP and employed
for the Atlas development.
The authors wish to express their thanks to everybody who contributed to this publication development.
